L’Autre Ecran offers free film screenings three times a month in Paris.
Cinephiles on a budget should become familiar with L’Autre Ecran, the free film screening program in Paris ran by non-profit TOILES&TOILES. The program includes three free screenings per month:
- The first Tuesday of the month at 7:15 p.m.
- One Thursday per month at 8:00 p.m.
- One Friday per month at 8:00 p.m.
In September 2016, ten years after its creation, L’Autre Ecran had featured almost five hundred films. Each month, the event features an eclectic mix of short and longer films. When possible, filmmakers are present for the screenings to answer audience questions. For other sessions, documentary film screenings are followed by a public debate. Project funding comes from the city hall of the 2nd arrondissement of Paris. The film screenings take place in the 2nd near rue Montorgueil.
