Paris insider Sasha Romary is founder and CEO of the Paris-based concierge service Savoir Faire Paris. She has lived in Paris for many years now and has become quite the expert on unique and interesting things to do in Paris. Here she shares some of her favorite spots and activities in Paris.
Free: Musée Rodin
The Musée Rodin ( which offers free admission the first Sunday of every month) is my favorite museum. Some of the bigger museums like the Louvre or the Musée d’Orsay can be overwhelming because there is so much to visit. The Musée Rodin is really small and has a beautiful garden with sculptures. This is actually my favorite part of the museum.
Save: Pack a Picnic
I love picnics with large groups of friends because it removes the hassle of finding a table in a restaurant. Plus everyone can bring something different, which makes each picnic unique. My favorite picnic spots are the Champs de Mars, the tip of the Île Saint-Louis and along the banks of the Seine (the area near the Jussieu campus is great because there are steps). Even though I’ve lived in Paris for years, there’s something about seeing the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night during an evening picnic that gets me every time. It really reminds me of how magical Paris is.
Splurge: One-of-a-kind experiences
The best things to splurge on in Paris are one-of-a-kind experiences. For example, you can take a cooking lesson where you’ll learn how to select the best ingredients from Paris outdoor markets. One experience I enjoyed was making my own personalized canvas tote during a workshop with Kasia Dietz.
