Free Paris: What’s Free This Week (November 28th-Dec. 4th)

Check out our regularly updated calendar of free events happening in Paris.  Here are a few of the interesting free things happening this week.

Free This Week in Paris

Jean Rouch International Film Festival (through Dec. 6th): Free ethnographic film screenings throughout Paris in honor of the great filmmaker and anthropologist Jean Rouch.

Fred Le Chevalier Exhibit (through Dec.4): Discover the work of street artist Fred Chevalier, famous for his iconic black and white images that are visible throughout the streets of Paris.

Car-Free Sunday on the Champs Elysées (Dec. 4th): Pedestrians take over Paris’ most famous avenue! Cars are banned on the Champs-Elysées the first Sunday of every month as part of the City of Paris’ effort to curb pollution. The “Paris Respire” (Paris Breathes) campaign takes place in several zones of the city each month.

“Au fil de la Seine” Photo Exhibit (through Dec. 2): Did you know that almost 35% of the French population lives near the Seine? This exhibit will allow you to discover the work of a dozen artists on the subject of the important French river.

Salon SOBD (Dec. 2nd-4th): This free event focuses on contemporary comic book culture in Sweden and features a number of invited Swedish artists. There will be talks, roundtables and workshops.

Free Museum Sunday (Dec. 4th): A number of museums, including the famous Louvre and Orsay museums are free on the first Sunday of the month.

musee-dorsay-1089183_1920Orsay en Fête (Dec. 2nd-4th): Celebrate the 30 year anniversary of the Musée d’Orsay with this free event featuring exhibits, activities, shows, screenings and more!Artists of Père Lachaise Open House (Dec.3rd and 4th): 28 local artists will open their workshop doors to the public.

Free invitation to the ViniBIO and BIOgourmet Salons (Dec. 3-5): Visit a combined 140 stands featuring organic wine and gourmet food.

Mö Fatmusik and the Nobis Orchestre in concert (Dec. 2nd): This free concert combining rap and classical music promises to be unique.

Étudianse, op. 5″ (Dec. 2nd-6th): Free dance show featuring students from the National Conservatory of Music and Dance

Grand Troc Culturel (Dec. 3rd): Swap your unwanted CDs, DVDs, books and more at this free exchange event where no one pays with money.
